OLD VS NEW: M.A.C Mineralized Skin Finish (Lightscapade)

Happy New Year y'all and welcome back! I decided to kick the year off with a new thing I wanna do when I find a new version of a product/practice/anything really that I liked and compare and contrast! Old vs New!

So today, I'm going to be comparing M.A.C's Mineralized Skin Finish in Lightscapade! I've had this product for years now, and realized it was starting to look a little sunk in its packaging since I use it every single day!

I went to my Mac cosmetics store and was searching and searching (this is a tiny store by the way) and then realized the packaging changed! Also, the product inside looked so different to me with more hues of cool pinks and blues. The one I've had and been using was cooler with blues and I highlighted with it, so in my desperation realizing that the one I had was no more, I bought it to compare and use.

Here are the two side-by-side in the packaging:

You can see how worn out my old one is comparing the back!

The one on the left is my old/current one from who knows how long ago, and the one on the right is the one I bought early 2016! You can tell the colors look super different, the newer one even looks peachier in this lighting!

Once opened it looked a little better, the one on the left looks duller, whiter and a little plain. The one on the right is brighter with more blue and pink hues. Obviously the packaging looks less worn but they both weigh the same so they have the same amount of product (if both were new)

These are swatches of them in natural lighting, the top is the older one and the bottom is the newer.

The one on top you can tell is definitely more of a pure white highlight, the bottom shows hues of pinks and slightly blue (still love!) so all in all, I'm kind of excited for this pastel little product I use to highlight. Lightscapade has been an old favorites, abustle highlighter that goes well with my skin tone and I'll be using the newer one since I'm terrified of never having my first one (I'm sentimental sos)

Happy new year!

2015 Master Beauty Haul Part Three: Face

Welcome back to my blog y'all! This is the final installment of my 3-part master beauty haul and I didn't buy too much for the face (besides skincare...) so let's jump right into the products:

Let's start with makeup products for the face:

From Top L-R Bottom:

Too Faced Born this Way foundation (I have no idea where my bottle is like???)
Urban Decay's All-Nighter setting spray
Makeup Forever's Ultra HD foundation (I've got some mixed feelings about this one... Looks great fresh but I get oily throughout the day and it settles weird!)
Estēe Lauder's Double Wear Light foundation (x2 Intensity 0.5, switched over from the original Double Wear foundation because it was too thick, this was still too thick as my skin was getting drier! So I mixed it with my Too Faced Born this Way foundation mentioned before and it was perfect lol)
Nars' Radiant Creamy Concealer (custard)
Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind concealer (neutralizer)
Benefit Cosmetics' Porefessional primer (favorite!!! Though it does "pill" off my face on application?)
Marc Jacobs' Remedy concealer pen (00 Stand Corrected, love this and the idea of it! But for the price it doesn't last very long at all... Even though I don't use concealer much anyway)
Lâncome's Dual Ended Contour brush
Sephora's #45.5 Classic Mini Multi-Tasker brush (switched from the Beauty Blender to try!!! Love it so far)
Nars' Pro-Prime primer (love it and it DOESN'T pill off my face, but it kind of irritates my face :c my makeup also doesn't last as long as when I use my Porefessional primer!)
Sephora's Original Beauty Blender sponge (great for all skin types and is flawless af!)
Becca x Jaclyn Hill Highlighter Trio (PEARL IS LIFE)
Tarte Cosmetics' Amazonian Clay blush (Celebrated)
Clinique's Cheek Pop blush (Fig Pop ugh fave and I'm NOT a blush girl!)
Milani's Baked Blush (03 Berry Amore, love it, it's a blush and warm highlight even though I'm a cool/white highlight kind of girl!)
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer (original?)

That wraps it up for makeup! Skincare time...

Now, for those of you who don't know I left my job as a manager in training at my old retail job, went on vacation to California with Cub and Honeybear (that post will be finished I swear!) and shortly after started with Clinique! So of course I have both received (I'm not posting what I've received in this post) and bought a whole new skincare routine!

Inside our bathroom cabinet, I've got my "3-step" skincare routine for dry/combo skin and datk spots/acne scars. Further down after that purple bottle I have my sister's skincare I gifted her :)

Here's most of the skincare I've bought (not including back ups I have stored away lol!)

*I am NOT being told or paid by Clinique as part of my job to give you these opinions or mini reviews, I've received and bought things from my company and this is what I actually use daily!

L-R ALL CLINIQUE

Sonic cleansing brush
Take the Day Off cleansing balm
Facial soap bar (mild) for use w/o brush
(The liquid form is in a travel size on top and I used that to clean my tattoos lol!) sitting on top of the
Foaming Sonic soap for use w/brush
Clarifying Lotion #2 for Dry/Combo Skin
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (my first ever Clinique product! I got it in a sample at Sephora and bought a 50mL of if from there before I started working at Clinique!)
Even Better Dark spot Corrector (life and face changing!)
Even Better Moisturizer spf 20

Details about them, how I use them abs what I think will be in a post coming first week of January 2016 as it'll be a little longer to describe :)

There is a Lush Cosmetics Bubblegum lip scrub above the DDML+!!! Love it tastes way sweet though and that's not my thing lol!

Now onto the other part I bought for my sister:

Clarifying Lotion #1 for Very Dry/Dry Skin
Mild Clarifying Lotion (getting her to try it out since the #1 is a little abrasive for her VERY sensitive skin)
Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser (she has all 3 parts to the redness line butthe base is in her makeup bag!)
Redness Solutions moisturizer

That's all for skincare in this post! I'll elaborate on the products and etc. very soon!

Those were all the things (I could find) bought in 2015 for cosmetics in Eyes/Lips/Face and thanks y'all for an amazing year! 2016 will be consistent!!! It's another big year so stay tuned also for a special announcement. Happy New Year y'all!

2015 Master Beauty Haul Part Two: Lips

Hey y'all and welcome back! Let's dive right on into my favorite kind of makeup- makeup for your lips! I've loved lipsticks and anything that has to do with lips and color since I was young. Since watching Mulan to be exact, when they painted her lips getting her ready for the Matchmaker? Yeah... That was the start of it all! And now I'm gonna share what I've added to my collection of lippies and lip related things!

This is all of the packaging I've managed to keep (I guess I've been loving Limecrime this year!):

This is everything I can remember buying this year excl. packaging! I'll have swatches down below of everything (except for the Clinique Day of the Week lipsticks! Just because I'm missing one and may add it into another post another time!) I'm missing a handful of some Mac, Limecrime and Too Faced lipsticks because I've gifted them to my sister but here's what's in my collection and I will also rate them by stars on a scale of ***** since lippies are so so important to me and I have an opinion about all of them:

The swatches below are accurate to the photo from L-R

Lip liners first since I've only bought 3! (Well 5 if you include the 2 Mac ones I lost a week within buying them... Ahem)

L-R:

Clinique's Quickliner for Lips Intense (intense blush) **** love it for the pinker tones in my lipsticks and by itself!
Clinique's Quickliner for Lips Intense (intense café) *** reliable pinkier/brown color when I am running low on the below!
Mac's Pro Longwear lip pencil (morning coffee) ***** YESS holy grail lip liner in both the formula and color! Goes with about everything love love love it!

Now the lippies...
L-R:

Mac's lipstick (Velvet Teddy) *****
Lime Crime's Unicorn Lipstick (Eraser) ** my first LC unicorn lippie and was not super impressed with the texture... Color was cute but next time I'll stay with one of their reds or bluer colors!

:Here come the Velvetines...:
Lime Crime's Velvetines in:
Cashmere *****, Bleached ***, Faded **, Riot *****, Red Velvet ****, Wicked ***, Buffy *****, Beet it **, Peacock *

I'm sorry, they deserved a paragraph break! Continuing:

Kat Von D's Studded Kiss lipstick (love craft) *****
Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid lipstick (lolita) ****
Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid lipstick (echo) ****
(The ELLL didn't get 5 *'s because the texture was not my fave!)
Too Faced Cosmetics' Melted Metal Liquid lipstick (peony) *
Too Faced Cosmetics' La Créme Color Drenched lipstick (spice spice baby) ** (gifted to sister not pictured)
Stila's Stay All Day Liquid lipstick (dolce) *****
Stila's Stay All Day Liquid lipstick (patina) *****
Love the Stila ones more than the KVD ones... Oops hype world take that!

I also renewed my VIB Rouge status at Sephora this year again (oops) so I received another Marc Jacobs lippie in Rouge and I love that as well! And a lot with Marc Jacobs lippie in one of their new Sheer Gel lippies (loving their gel theme in their products very smooth if ya feel me)!

Well that was all added to my collection just this year! Lipsticks and lip things have been interesting from the start of my love for makeup (and clean lines and vibrant, muted, all colors in art in general !) I know the last photo isn't all lipsticks but the lipsticks I mentioned come in them :) love y'all and stay tuned for the last little installment of my big 2015 haul!

SUMMER VACATION 2015 Day 2: CALI ADV (07/06/15)

Disney trip:

Day 2: CALI ADV (07/06/15)

So we tried to wake up super early for our car ride to Anaheim from San Diego. We all tried so hard lol!

My cousin Jamiee actually woke up pretty early since she of course isn't packed and we were all good to go since, well, we were going to be living out of our suitcases the next week essentially! So she woke up about an hour and a half earlier than cub, Honeybear and I, and that was already about 6/7 am.

Once we got up it was kind of a rush to get ready since we didn't really know when exactly Juice was going to be there so I threw on my outfit and got out my essentials to do my makeup in the car, lol!

Once we gathered ourselves about an hour later Juice was there and we loaded up his car with our luggage. I'm getting exciting writing this thinking about how exciting it was WE WERE GOING TO FREAKING DISNEYLAND!!! Buuuut we had to grab breakfast first- lol.

I honestly forgot where we went but it was still in SD (I think!) ugh... Rusty blogger typing here in her car in the winter about what she did in the summer :(. BUT we were on our way asap rocky! Honestly, us 3 in the back fell asleep most of the ride THANK YOU J+J for taking our sleepy butts everywhere- I didn't thank y'all enough!

We were in Anaheim probably around 10/11? And checked into our hotel- with a couple of unexpected complications... The first of many financial slip ups during this trip which I'll be real about throughout this post. We made it after about half an hour since 1.) we were early for check in and 2.) said issues above. Shoutout to the cool reception guy at the Marriot hotel in Anaheim for helping us and making sure we were as happy as possible too! Made it up to our room and started to actually get ready- if only I knew we were gonna chill at the hotel first sigh... I could've ridden in my pjs and no makeup :( but I'm not going to Disney NOT looking cute. None of us were and Juice wanted to iron his shirt anyways! So some of us showered, I mainly unpacked a little and set up my makeup station which I WISH I had a picture of mine and Jamiee's table takeover at the hotel because our makeup was all over that table!

J+J left for their Uber first, today everyone pretty much just did their own thing actually so this is almost all you'll hear of them today but they were filming some content for their vlog :) I'll link it below along with all our links!

About 15/20 minutes later we headed out to our Uber and got to the ultra fun cloudy day at Disneyland!!!

Yes my story on snapchat was this long... Oops

(Excuse my eyebrow pomade on my hand lol)

Getting in was smooth and we were excited. Cub and I were already stoked to be back in California for family and rekindling with them but we hadn't been to Disneyland in 10 years until today! We started running around everywhere, looking at all the characters and merchandise and people buzzing! We were there around noon because I had made reservations at a character dining restaurant, Ariel's Grotto, in Paradise Pier for 12:45 so we had time to kill and it was such an awkward time gap until then- no time to do too much but too much time to just shop (a dangerous amount of time since I ALWAYS speed shop)! But we took pictures and Paradise Pier was way at the back anyways so we had time to walk a few laps in our child-like excitement!

So many cute pics in front of the wheel! Also look at how freakin cute my sister is with Flick we aren't even huge fans but this section of the park was so cute!such vibrant colors and atmosphere.

Okay. Ariel's Grotto and Paradise Pier in general was my dream! This place was GORGEOUS and decorated with such character and detail from the blue and green soft lighting, the spot it was on at the pier by the water, the sea shell printed carpet and sea themed chandelier above the staircase, so many things about it was so enchanting with its sea themed charm and mermaid-like features.

When we got to Ariel's Grotto it was PACKED. Like. The waiting area. Thank goodness I had a reservation because it only took about two minutes getting us from the waiting area to the actual LINE to get into the dining area... AND SEE ARIEL HERSELF HOW DID SHE EVEN HAVE TIME FOR THIS TO SEE US?!?! I cried. Cub was so happy for me and it was amazing having my sister there to share those sentimental moments with, Honeybear was stoked for the food and for me too. It took a good 10-15 minutes for the line to die down; the line was through a spiral staircase and my heart stopped when I could see Ariel and it was a countdown from there!

(Waiting area)

(Magical sea staircase omg)

(WAS THIS HAPPENING?)

(It did! My sister also caught it all on video :') check out my Instagram in the morning for what I got for those pictures with her!) and those are better than this one because lighting lol!

When I met her she complicated my Mikaylove sea jewels (thanks Kaycakes!) and asked about my ears and how it's okay that a handsome prince (or princess!) didn't pick the flowers on it for me because real princesses do it ourselves <3

After we saw Ariel, which was amazing! We were seated and I was just so so overwhelmed with the friendly atmosphere, the music and this incredible decor omg

(Dining area)

Thank you so much cub for taking ALL these pictures!!!

And no, can't find pictures of our food sigh except for one that Delia took I think I was too busy crying and worshipping the princesses and atmosphere 😭

The food was honestly really OKAY... I got a seafood (yikes) pasta with crab chowder, Delia got a lobster salad and Honeybear got steak, greens and potatoes and he was the only one IN LOVE with his food. The character dining was amazing because of the atmosphere and characters- the food was not as great as I expected but it's okay!!!

And after our time meeting princesses Repunzel, Cinderella, Tiana, Bell and of course Ariel we briefly met up with J+J for a quick break at the hotel to rest up and go back!

She was an absolute sweetie!
Cindy <3
LOOK AT HER DRESS. LOOK AT IT.

Now this part was less picture taking more adventure seeking and we didn't meet so many characters because we were in California Adventure so we mainly shopped and rode little rides! Like Goofy's Sky School (which I have a video of not a picture!), the Ferris wheel and Ariel's little Undersea Adventure and the carousel!

Sistas

<3
Quite easily the best picture I took this whole trip. The sweet lady on the bike showed up and posed and rode along at the perfect time and speed!
This was in one of the shops and it was mad cool because Mulan representation and Mulan is honeybear's favorite!

Knock on wood y'all!

Sistas to infinity, and beyond! This cast member tried really hard for us to get a pic with Woody but he had to go- she snuck us his autograph and it was a dream and she was so sweet!

Goofy and Honeybear got to meet a princess ;) (honeybear's words!

It was a day of sight seeing, bonding and wonder! I especially loved Paradise Pier and loved taking pictures of my sister and I'm so blessed we got to make those memories together even if it was mostly walking around a little stressed and tired-the park and people took most of it away for the hours we were there :)

We got back to the hotel around 11/12 and missed the parade and fireworks because we were all SPENT! Delia was pretty upset because she loves fireworks, that's a regret I have for that day :(

But all in all was a wonderful day at California Adventure and the next day is even more magical <3 stay tuned for Disneyland in the coming days :)
